Last weekend we went to the famous castle of Neuschwanstein. It was cold and foggy so quite a special atmosphere over there. The trip from Munich to Hohenschwangau went pretty smooth, the last part was via Bundesstraßen through nice Bavarian villages.
On arrival the parking lot costs 5€ and the ticket just for Neuschwanstein was 12€. The trip from ticket center down in the village up to the castle took us 20 minutes.
Tour starts inside the castle courtyard and they have fancy ticket checking machines. The tour was in English and took about 30 minutes – sadly quite fast. However you get a good impression how the last months of King Ludwig looked like as the interior was quite modern for the late 19th century.
